Adjunct Professor with QAAFI, University of Queensland.I supervise a number of PhD students in collaborative projects with UQ.

Private plant breeder with Peanut Company of Australia. Responsible for the breeding and development of high yielding, high oleic, disease resistant, market acceptable cultivars for commercial release in Australia and overseas. Coordinate pure seed program and conduct relevant breeding, agronomic and shelling plant R&D for PCA.

Employed at Qld Dept Primary Industries, Kingaroy as a Principal Research Agronomist and Team Leader (Pulses), with the Plant Science Institute. In this position I have been responsible for the supervision of around 25 staff, including scientists and technicians, and control a budget of approx. $4M p.a. (base + external funds). I have maintained an active research portfolio in a number of disciplines including aflatoxin management of peanuts, achieving yield potential in peanuts, peanut breeding program, breeding for drought resistant peanuts and navybeans, chickpea germplasm introduction and more recently, the use of remote sensing imagery in crop management.
