Developed a decentralized publishing platform that became a leader in the web3 space. I developed crowdfunding protocols that helped raise millions of dollars on-chain. My work on NFT protocols, such as NFT Splits, auction contracts, and others, were adopted by other projects in the ecosystem, including Nouns and Zora. I had the opportunity to lead the development and implementation of DeFi protocols, backend APIs, frontend and mobile products, while managing a talented engineering team. We implemented fiat on-ramps and banking integrations, and helped set up fraud detection and prevention measures. We successfully managed tens of millions of dollars in cryptocurrency assets. The team was eventually acquired by OpenSea.

As part of the founding team, I collaborated with the CTO to design and develop full-stack infrastructure that enabled over a million students to receive billions of dollars in scholarships from more than 300 partnering colleges. I was instrumental in creating the engineering interview process, defining company values, and interviewing hundreds of candidates, which helped us to grow to a team of 60 employees. I personally managed and mentored a team of 7 engineers, and was promoted for my contributions to the company.

While in college, I founded a tech company and designed and developed a suite of tools for writers. My creation was downloaded 23 million times and the premium product cost $67. The company was profitable and I sold it in 2012. I had to sell it because I was on a student visa in the US and didn't know how to legally scale it in that context.

I applied my data science skills to analyze a corpus of books from the early Renaissance. The corpus consisted of approximately 25,000 books, which were scanned into digital form. I utilized modern machine learning algorithms, natural language processing, statistical methods, and web technologies to uncover insights on how English writers described non-Western cultures during the Renaissance. I created a public web site using D3.js and other JavaScript packages to present my findings to a wider audience.

I spearheaded the development of a reseller's panel for OpenWeb products. The features I developed have since become the foundation for their entire product management system. This panel continues to empower small companies across South Africa to purchase and manage internet packages for their clients. The project required both server-side development and front-end design and engineering. To ensure a smooth transition for the development environment and team after my departure, I chose to work with the accessible CodeIgniter framework in PHP and taught myself the entire framework as I worked on the project.

I assisted Dr. Christopher DiMattina in investigating the question of how our brains represent visual information when we look at lines, shapes, and textures. We conducted psychophysical experiments with human subjects and employed cutting-edge mathematical techniques to analyze the data. My responsibilities included creating and maintaining software for conducting experiments, leading subjects through these experiments, and analyzing the resulting data. I presented papers on the neuroscience of mid-level vision and mathematical techniques for data analysis on a weekly basis.

During a summer at Stanford, I joined a small team where I was responsible for developing the front-end and back-end of an MVP. My efforts led to a successful first round of capital raising, and a mobile app was created from my design and code. It was a great experience, and I was able to contribute to the success of the project.
