Manager Of It Innovations SolutionsAir Canada Apr 2018 - Dec 2021Saint Laurent In Montreal, Quebec, Ca►Windows 10◄Currently leading the Windows 10 migration at Air Canada. Leveraging Intune, my team designed the solution around Microsoft's vision of Modern Management - entirely through the cloud.✪ Security first: Windows Defender ATP and Microsoft Cloud App Security (integrated with our ZScaler proxy) secures our machines and controls "shadow IT", while informing IT Security of any breaches.✪ End user experience considered from start to finish, leveraging a autopilot for automatic provisioning.✪ Designed our Windows Update "rings" to control Microsoft's frequent updates while ensuring app compatibility.✪ Windows telemetry uploaded and stored through Azure Log Analytics allowed us to create performance and device health dashboards in Power BI.✪ Managing our vendors for the services we wish to outsource. Engaged in the negotiation process.►Office 365◄My team manages all aspects of the Air Canada Office 365 environment.✪ Identity and group management in Azure AD, creating processes for risky sign-ins, privileged access management, and conditional access.✪ License management and interface with Microsoft.✪ Created our Office 365 data governance process by leveraging Azure Information Protection as well as the Security & Compliance center for suspicious/unusual behaviour.✪ Improved on Microsoft's adoption analytics by connecting Office 365 to Azure Log Analytics. This allows us to dig into the data for more detail and customized PowerBI reports.✪ Work directly with our Microsoft reps to improve the adoption of the many Office 365 services available to employees.►IT EUS Reinvention◄Currently leading an Air Canada/IBM initiative to drastically improve our end user services experience for all employees.✪ Moving the helpdesk from offshore to Montreal. Transforming it into a servicedesk (ITSM best practices).✪ Creating a new level of support for our helpdesk (L1.5).✪ Creating new proactive servicedesk processes using analytics and automation. -
It Innovations Solutions ManagerAir Canada May 2016 - Apr 2018Saint Laurent In Montreal, Quebec, Ca►Office 365◄Led Office 365 steady-state best practices and toolset adoption initiatives.- Worked directly with Microsoft to create and implement best practices for Office 365 with emphasis on security, data management, and user experience.- Led our adoption initiatives for the Office 365 toolset. Achieved significant boosts in adoption rates.- Spoke at Microsoft Ignite 2016 on increasing adoption of Skype for Business. See embedded video (the same lessons can be applied to Skype's successor: Microsoft Teams, as well as other tools).►Airports Digital Learning (ADL) project◄Our airports department is responsible for continually training employees on the newest safety and security procedures. Previously relying on a traditional classroom style of learning, it was desired to move to a digital "cafe-like" experience with tablets and kiosks displaying video content. Our team led everything from the technology side, which required working very closely with the business in all details of the project. We achieved our goal of launching in the summer of 2017 and the project was a success. The airports department has been adding further training modules since.►Microsoft Surface initiative◄Led the first WIndows 10 deployment at Air Canada by using Microsoft Intune and the Microsoft Surface. Worked directly with Microsoft to create a "Modern Management" experience for the user, allowing SSO across Office 365 and a self-provisioning solution entirely based in the cloud, with security at the core. The project was a runaway success and what started as a POC with a few tech-savvy employees quickly exploded to more than 500 devices, including some used by VPs as their primary device. Successfully negotiated with IBM to have them support the device in steady-state and co-manage the solution alongside Air Canada. -

External It ConsultantAir Canada Jun 2013 - Jul 2014Saint Laurent In Montreal, Quebec, CaMicrosoft Office 365 IntegrationSummary : At the start of 2013, Air Canada partnered with Microsoft to offer Office 365 solutions. This was a very ambitious project that will completely overhaul Air Canada’s Active Directory services, deliver a brand new employee portal utilizing the sharing capabilities offered by Sharepoint, upgrade all copies of Microsoft Office to the latest version, and move approximately 23,000 users onto Exchange 2013.• Helped set up and test the servers that are being used to host the new Active Directory including Microsoft Forefront Identity Manager which translates the information from the old Directory (LDAP) and synchronizes it to the new one.• Utilizing the experience gained from migrating 5,500 users onto Exchange 2010 preparing the migration of 23,000 other users to Exchange 2013. This includes a complete communication plan as well as structured data migration waves planned in conjunction with IBM.• In charge of testing the subscription installation of Microsoft Office 2010 and 2013. Work closely with Telus and IBM to ensure that the appropriate ports and URLs are open to allow a smooth authentication procedure.• An administrator on Microsoft Sharepoint for Air Canada. Maintain communication with the different business units to help them understand how to set up and use Sites in order to share and collaborate information. -
External It ConsultantAir Canada Jun 2012 - Jun 2013Saint Laurent In Montreal, Quebec, CaExchange 2010 SherWeb email migrationSummary : Air Canada was to move from its SUN email systems with IBM to the new Exchange 2010 mail system. SherWeb was contracted to provide the Exchange 2010 infrastructure. My role was to plan and support the migration of over 5,500 in-scope users.• Before the migration began, planned and tested a UAT test script and worked closely with SherWeb to iron out any issues encountered. Testing included the Administrative Control panel, Blackberry BES activations, and Outlook setups.• Using raw information from IBM, carefully divided the migration by corporate branch into migration waves. The timing had to be carefully considered and each corporate branch had to be contacted in order to ensure minimal operational impact.• Coordinated with IBM and SherWeb in order to ensure successful data migration from the old SUN system to the new Exchange 2010 system.• Prepared a communication plan to be sent to all users within scope of the migration. These communications had to be carefully timed for each wave at multiple intervals.• Prepared documentation instructing the end user on what was required on their end. Careful emphasis on brevity and simplicity with screenshots.• On migration dates, coordinated on-site support whether for myself or with IBM techs. Due to the size and importance of the sites, travelled to Toronto, Winnipeg, London (England), and Frankfurt to assist in migration and ensure a smooth transition.• Steady State: As an administrator on the Exchange 2010 system, I continue to create and maintain various in-scope requirements such as delegate user permissions, distribution lists, and generic email accounts. I continue to work closely with both IBM and SherWeb to solve any issues that arise. -

Web Analyst/Technical TrainerAir Canada Nov 2010 - Aug 2011Saint Laurent In Montreal, Quebec, Ca• Using the software TeaLeaf, looked for fraudulent transactions made by users using stolen credit cards. This process required careful analysis of every suspicious transaction to be as sure as possible that a genuine paying customer was not being flagged.• Utilizing the powerful search tools granted by TeaLeaf, I came up with my own methods of tracking fraudulent transactions, some of which slipped through the old procedures normally employed by the Air Canada security team’s software.• Generated a report at the end of each day to send to the Air Canada security team listing as clearly as possible the various transactions I found to be fraudulent and why. They would then take appropriate action, whether that be cancelling the purchase or even stopping the would-be passenger at the gate.• In the first 2 months of employment, found over 150,000$ worth of fraudulent transactions.• Aided in the tracking and analyzing of error codes. Worked in a small team to figure out what was causing some error codes on the Air Canada website to erroneously trigger. Continued to track error rates daily and alert the web team of any irregularities. -
