An accomplished strategist and change agent with a history of exceptional performance leading in technology businesses. I strive to clearly communicate with all stakeholders about product roadmaps, delivery timescales, technical efficacy and business value. I believe that: - Building and operating robust enterprise software at scale requires a mix of knowledge, strategy, leadership and resilient operations. - Selecting, motivating and leading engineering teams requires strong yet lean processes that are applied with sensitivity to varied personalities and motivations. - Understanding the market and commercial realities requires collaboration with leaders, investors and key clients. - Defining software architecture and global infrastructures that will deliver success both in the immediate and the long term requires detailed consideration and clear strategy. - Trusted technical operations must ensure zero downtime, global high availability, resilience and attention to the threats present in today’s technical and business environments. With a long-term base in Edinburgh, Scotland, I have almost 30 years of leadership experience delivering enterprise, SaaS and internet scale applications for organisations including Reed Elsevier, Goldman Sachs and Prixcar and for startups including Factonomy, Vehnet, ResDiary, Equibuddy and Holibob. Achievements- I led the delivery for a series of security sensitive iOS & Android apps alongside a core web based administration system. - I led the delivery of a serverless infrastructure in AWS and an enterprise platform developed on Node, React and NextJS to support partnerships operating across the world in many languages, currencies and legal jurisdictions. - I brought leadership and process to an existing product team to maintain and enhance a highly available application serving six hundred internal users across twenty-seven locations, three hundred mobile units and five time-zones. - I recruited and led a software delivery team to develop transactional and mission critical logistic systems within the global automotive market. - I delivered high profile software projects deployed internally for Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan Chase resulting in greater business resilience and improved regulatory reporting. - I worked for the European CEO of LexisNexis to evaluate large scale I.T. initiatives and budgets. - I execute a programme changing the way a multinational enterprise thought about customer relationship management.
