Providing support to Corporate Affairs Director and Leadership Team (LT) through period of recruitment and transformation of corporate affairs function, including:- media/external/internal communications- crisis comms - including response to protest (XR), collapse of Flybe and Covid-19 epidemic- public affairs - responsible for local and national political engagement, range of departmental relationships, counsel to LT and creation of engagement strategy post GE2019- sustainability and community relations - supporting development of new Sustainability Strategy; volunteering and skills/education programme; airspace change engagement plan- defining requirements for, and recruitment of, external communications support - delivery of LCY 15-year airport vision (masterplan) and consultation report

Part of MAG Senior Leadership Team, responsible for Group-wide corporate and crisis communications, media and public affairs, including extended teams at three major UK airports and providing support for other MAG divisions, including MAG-Online and MAG USA.

In a newly created role, increased MAG’s political profile, which enabled greater influence and impact with political stakeholders within Westminster, Brussels and UK devolved governments.- Led on MAG Brexit policy in UK and Europe, leading industry, business and government, engagement, commissioning research to ensure prioritisation for aviation sector- Led on wider policy agendas, including aviation, transport and tourism, sustainability and borders- Secured vital policy commitments through campaigning on; making full use of airport capacity alongside any growth at Heathrow; delivering Northern Powerhouse Rail and HS2 - connecting Manchester Airport to more of the North- provided strategic counsel to CEO, Chairman and Executive Committee on external communications, regulatory, policy and political risk, and opportunities for industry leadership- represented MAG on UK/EU industry and corporate bodies, including AOA, ACI Europe and CBI.

Responsible for leading a small team to deliver Heathrow’s political campaigning programme for expansion and the broader aviation policy agenda in Westminster, UK regions and EU. Provided policy and political advice/analysis to CEO, Executive Committee and 3rd runway campaign team.Built effective teams across media, public affairs and internal comms creating messaging, external comms and government engagement plans for the campaign that transformed political and public perceptions of the airport and future growth plans. Produced copy for campaign publications, bringing to life our campaign stories and policy positions, and brought together regional influencers to research, report on and advocate for the benefits of Heathrow expansion to the UK regions.

Supporting the Head of Public Affairs to design and deliver Heathrow expansion political campaign programme, business and regional engagement and communications collateral.Promoted to Head of Government Relations within nine months.

Advising clients on all elements of their public affairs strategies including corporate communications and reputation management issues. This includes legislative lobbying, profile-raising and media relations/crisis communications. Working in the Government and Infrastructure team also includes planning communications programmes for clients across a range of sectors.
