Following my Masters Degree in Environmental Management and Sustainable Development (I got a distinction 🎉), I got a position as a projects co-ordinator on commercial projects related to environmental management, typically for Local Authorities, and as the organisations lead on environmental management, through which we over-achieved on our commitments to.

This wasn't employment per se, but rather my Masters degree placement. It was a dream project... developing a Vision of Sustainability for the Football League Trust, in partnership with Business in the Community and the Environment Agency. This was a great job where I got to work with football clubs from up and down the country and through which my work.

This was a fantastic experience I had compiling carbon footprint assessments for businesses across Greater Manchester, and submitting recommendation reports to them based on on-site visits. I did such a good job I was hired for the role of checking the work of the rest of the team and eventually was invited to work at NUS HQ to do some data analysis. That.

After leaving the world of pensions administration, I had a couple of months until my masters degree was to start. Luckily I had been an eager beaver and had emailed anyone who would (or wouldn't) listen to say I was interested in an internship experience in the world of environmental management. The awesome Adam Hebden was kind enough to give me a chance.

After returning from travelling in Australia and Japan I returned to my old career in pensions administration. Again I was able to excel in this role due to my ability to work quickly and process large volumes of data accurately. I honed my Microsoft Excel skills in this role, learning to run my first complicated programming commands quickly, saving us.

This role saw me start as a data administrator and slowly work my way to being in charge of pensions administration for accounts worth several millions of pounds. I was able to shine here due to my ability to hyperfocus and process large volumes of data quickly and accurately.
