My initial role was to plan, co-ordinate and manage a variety of large scale events from beginning to end, managing clients and external agencies expectations and requests in the process. I have dealt with small events from private dining and meetings to large scale dinners, corporate and creative events for numbers of 500+ often involving high profile clients whose needs are at times demanding and out of the ordinary.With having a keen interest in sport and strong coordination skills, shortly after starting work at Titanic Hotel Liverpool I naturally found my role changing slightly and found myself co-ordinating the stays of sports teams within the hotel which occurred on a weekly basis. This consisted of taking enquiries and creating an initial proposal for agents or clubs direct, to then collating details and teams requirements such as menus, bedroom allocations, key onsite contacts, timings and itineraries. On the day of the team arrival I ensured all areas were set up as required and everything was in place for the arrival. I greeted the teams upon arrival, introducing the onsite contact to all necessary staff members and ensured the team was checked in and settled.As with all events, I created an event sheet with full details of the event including timings, catering requirements, set up etc. Event sheets were then distributed to all head of departments and discussed in an events meeting on a weekly basis. Between meetings I regularly liaised with different departments providing updates on all events.Sales was also a massive part in my role which I particularly enjoyed and thrived from. I attended networking events and carried out site visits for potential clients while also on a daily basis dealing with enquiries through phone and email.

I have worked in the Leisure Industry for over five years in the roles of both Pool Lifeguard and Gym Instructor.My position involves me ensuring that environment of the centre both on and off poolside is safe for staff and customers, preventing any dangers, risks or accidents. I also supervise pool and gym users of all ages and abilities and ensure a high level of hygiene is maintained at all times.Communication is key in my role as I am constantly communicating with the public to answer enquiries and also general communication and issue instructions. As well as this I communicate with all staff to ensure a quality service is provided and information is shared amongst staff. Customer care is paramount within the Leisure Industry and I have to ensure I provide excellent customer service when carrying out day to day tasks which include carrying out gym inductions, dealing with enquiries, creating and delivering one to one fitness programs for customers and when generally speaking to customers either face to face or over the phone.I am trained to treat appropriate first aid if and when required, part of my first aid skills include CPR and the use of the defibrillator machine.General maintenance of equipment and centre facilities is also an aspect of my daily role.I also regularly work on community events which were held in the sports centre. These involve working with approximately 250 children at each event.

My main role within Sodexo is to Coordinate, sell and promote non match day events at Goodison Park.I work within the events team coordinating, managing and supporting conferences, meetings, celebration parties, weddings, executive lunches and tours of the stadium and it facilities.I deal with enquiries and make bookings for clients, obtaining key information and take card and cash payments over the phone and face to face. Have meetings with clients and obtain and agree details for their event, upselling were possible. Capture key information and put together an event contract. Update details of the event as required for the function sheet to ensure 100% success on the day.I am responsible for email marketing for the department, using software to send eshots to database to promote upcoming events and special offers on a cyclical basis. Pro-active outbound telesales calls to customers for specific campaigns.Research competitors and carry out analysis of different event types.I also assist with menu requirements, room plans and room layout and set up. Deal with consumers, corporates and agents for event enquiries and bookings and assist on the day with wedding and conferences and ensure times are adhered to and guests are looked after.I have also spent time shadowing various staff members of the department including Duty Manager, Sales manager, Head Chef, Operations team, Bar and Food service staff, to understand their role and give me a complete understanding of what is required to ensure the organisation of a successful event.
