I enjoy understanding and building commercial propositions in media and technology. My gut instinct is good, but I use data to bring credibility to my theories. I use innovative and creative thinking to orchestras that need to be conducted; this translates into scaling lines of revenue, building out successful teams and gaining the trust of the people I work for and with.I have held many commercial leadership positions in large and privately-owned businesses, all in an environment where the success of outcomes is all linked to high performance and leadership. These experiences have led me to learn the following about myself.I can successfully build commercial platforms in many different verticals ranging from millions to multi – millions.- Co-led a VC back merger in the gaming and subscription space. - Building and protecting over £300m of advertising revenues at News UK under the most strained of conditions was something I am most proud of.- Pulling the building blocks of Concise together to win new business off much larger organisations in that eco – system keeps me driven. Transforming its EBITDA position. - Seeking out new investors and alliances is something I enjoy doing and Concise has a lot of new strands to its offering. Winning new business is the proof of this success.- Selling myself as an independent consultant was the hardest thing I have done as I find it very uncomfortable talking about myself. - Curating multiple go to market plans in a technology company that often put up much resistance was rewarding when watching success and people’s faces change.I can align people:- I’ve built teams from the ground up 10 – 110.- I look for what people can do, not what they cannot based on my coaching experience.- I can speak Exec, Tech and People.- Most importantly, I am not afraid that responsibility lies with me.There’s always more to do:- I understand the need for balance in ‘doing’ and ‘learning.’ - I stay calm in times of adversity and uncertainty.- I focus on making high quality decisions.Please connect if you think I can help with what you are doing or want a view on rugby.
