I am the Financial Planning and Treasury Manager for Willmott Dixon, a UK-based construction and property services company with around £1.5b in annual turnover and around 2,500 employees.I am a CIMA qualified Management Accountant, and in May 2019 began studying towards the Certificate in Treasury through ACT (Association of Corporate Treasurers). I am also a current member of MENSA.I have worked for Willmott Dixon for the past eight years. In that time my role has progressed steadily, with three major promotions in responsibility during that period, most recently in September 2018. I currently have a multi-faceted role reporting to the CFO. My responsibilities include the management of the Treasury function, providing financial planning and modelling support directly to the CFO and the Board, and management of a Cashiers team with six direct reports.Previous responsibilities at Willmott Dixon have included overlapping roles managing a Bought Ledger team of fourteen over a four year period, and a wide-ranging project accountant role.Supporting a keen personal interest in financial markets, I previously spent 18 months trading FX for my own account from January 2010 to July 2011, which was a unique and valuable insight into the life of a full-time trader.In January 2011 I was awarded the degree of Master of Science by Research from the University of Hertfordshire for a programme of work entitled Great Expectation: Mathematical Models of the Financial Futures Markets. This was the culmination of a long piece of work which investigated the extent of the historic tendency for markets to exhibit long-term trend-continuation traits.Prior to this, I worked as a Management Accountant at a subsidiary company of Willmott Dixon for two years. I have also previously worked in Accounting roles at Nokia Siemens Networks UK Ltd, Masterfoods (UK) Ltd (Mars Inc Group) and Dell Corporation Ltd.
