Provided technical support to research on emerging viral zoonoses (Ebola, Nipah virus) in BSL3 and BSL4 laboratories. Used basic virology and veterinary vaccinology techniques to support investigations into viral pathogenesis and development of immunity in hosts of highly pathogenic viruses. Techniques included cell and virus culture; fluorescence microscopy; flow cytometry; qRT-PCR; and cell-based virological assays such as (immuno)plaque titration and serum neutralization assays (VNT/PRNTs).

Master's student research on emerging viral diseases in Dr. Hana Weingartl's Special Pathogens Unit. Investigated pathogenesis of Nipah virus in the porcine host in BSL3 and BSL4 containment laboratories. Techniques included cell and virus culture, qRT-PCR, flow cytometry, and ELISA.

Five summers of progressively increasing responsibility in the performance and training of period-accurate 19th century British military drill, as well as providing enthusiastic and informative customer service. Regularly performed and oversaw the safe preparation and firing of 19th century firearms and artillery ordnance. Designed and implemented training plans to get Drill Squad performance unit to high performance level with short turnaround time; led the unit in a performance with the USMC Silent Drill Platoon in 2015.
