Electec was set up to allow me to enter the electronics and power market independently. The company designed and developed chargers and inverters. We sold these as individual products and brought them together to create a complete power system. Our knowledge and experience enable us to win a contract with BT, whereby we supported their telephone rentals and were used as a standby for any outages or drops in power.The team grew to six people before we merged into Powerguard.

This transformer and inductor manufacturer developed computer programs to help us design various solutions. We created all sizes of transformers and supplied the transformers for Africa’s, Nigeria’s and Jamaica’s grid. While here, I also worked on a telecommunications contract, designing and creating the power supplies for them.
