Company Profile: OptiPower Projects specialises in Substations, Overhead Electrical Lines, and Fibre Optics.Responsibilities: Within my role, I manage the design, civil construction and erection of powerlines, substations and fibre optics for full turnkey power projects assigned to my portfolio. o Financial control of projects, o Operational control of projects regarding costs and timeline management, o Project scheduling and programmes.o Responsible for site plant and tools requirements needed for the projects;o Procurement of materials and hardware including supplier evaluation and capabilities;o Compiling of monthly project reports regarding financial and schedule status;o Determining and implementing the labour requirements according to the project needs;o Ensuring the SHEQ requirements on the projects are maintained according to the standards;o Responsible for the design and detailing of reinforced concrete foundations (Pad and chimney, piled and micro-piled), foundation setting out and stub design, and general structural steel element design using Prokon and internal developed calculation spreadsheets and AutoCAD for the drafting requirement.

Within my role, I was responsible for project and construction management of substation projects in terms of the civil and structural scope of works.o Evaluated and managed tenders and contracts.o Preparation of monthly certificates for payment to the client.o Evaluation of sub-contractors claims.o Review and management of sub-contractors project schedule.o Risk management in terms of financial and project schedule.o Responsible for the organization and delivery of materials and equipment for projects. o Ensured all Health, Safety and Environmental regulations were adhered to on the projects.Within my role, I performed the civil design of Substation Projects, including;o Primary plant structural steel support;o Reinforced concrete design;o Platform earth works design;o Platform drainage design;o Control buildings (RCC and Brick) design;o Access road design;o Responsible for bill of quantity development, including the costing thereof.o Responsible for overseeing of draughtsman and reviewing of their work.o Oversaw the development and maintenance of engineering staff competence.o Developed and maintained in-house civil engineering standards.o Issue and control of design related compensation events to the client and to the sub-contractor.o Involved in the investigation and survey of sites to determine suitability for project requirements.o Devolvement of construction method statements
