I joined HBT Communications as a senior support engineer, during my time at HBT I was installing and managing full network solutions. The networks solutions have been a combination of Swyx and Microsoft Technologies along with connectivity. Working mostly with Microsoft Server 2008 / 2012 / Desktop Machines / Laptops / Wireless / WatchGuard Firewalls. / Office 365 / SharePoint / Hosted Telephony.Examples of installs:Large multisite MPLS based network solutions with VoIP master / standby Swyx servers,with 400 + user installs, to small & medium sized businesses requiring small workgroup IP networks with hosted telephony. I would also support install and maintain third party bespoke software for telephony reporting and call recording analysisManaging and setting up Microsoft domains with Exchange 2010 upwards, moving mailboxes to office 365 and managing smooth transition to cloud based solutions / hybrid solutions. Installing other Microsoft technologies such as terminal servers and multiple domain controllers.

I joined One Source Telecom as an apprentice and worked my way up to becoming a senior support engineer, my duties included managing different IT & Telecoms installations and providing ongoing support for all our customers.Whilst working at One source telecom, I gained a strong understanding of IP networks, Microsoft technologies, VoIP, ISDN, analogue technologies, various internet solutions, and a wide range of PBX’s.During my time at One Source Telecom, I had the opportunity to work abroad this gave me a good understanding of different cultures.Examples of installs:Installations varied from large call centre environments requiring VoIP on leased lines with up to 50+ concurrent calls, with Swyx servers (including fail-over standby servers) and disaster recovery ISDN fail-overs. On top of this I would also support and install call reporting functionality through third party software. To small & medium sized businesses requiring small workgroup IP networks with hosted telephony.
