Moving from Delta in 2002, I was employed by Ian Tugwell at Shades Digital Limited in Hoddesdon.Here I was brought in to help with the ever increasing work that was being generated in their reprographic studio.I was given the opportunity to fully work and understand the Macs and reprographics to their full potential, using Quark Xpress, Illustrator,Photoshop, Indesign, and rip programmes such as the Harlequin Rip used in the film output through our Tanto film setter.As times changed, Shades and I moved into the proofing side using colourart system and their first epson printer.Shades has now moved it’s offices over to larger premises in Cuffley, where I now run our large format printing. Again my job has moved on to managing every aspect of the running, which includes Mac operation using illustrator, page layout with indesign, photo retouching in photoshop. Day to day running of our epson and Mutho large format printers, cold and hot laminators, printing to materials such as, vinyl’s, canvas, light block, contra vision, window vinyls and exterior banner.Production of banners, boards, pull-up and popup units, canvas prints, box mockups, floor graphics are all skills I have acquired over my years working here.

Delta graphics Limited was my first job straight out of college.Bruce Strachan (director and owner) was my first employee of which I was truly grateful.Delta was primarily a litho printers with the design studio up stairs, which served the four presses and finishing downstairs.I was brought up there in a traditional paste up environment, using the old school pmt cameras, film planning and colour separation, dish developing of film and bromides. Working with linotype typesetting, pmt's, rotring pens and of course the CS10 board!... How many of you remember any of those?There I was then introduced to the world of Apple Mac computers, film processor output and computer to plates.As time went on, I took over sourcing and the purchase of materials, client liaising, but still kept a full hands on approach at Delta with all aspects of the work.
