CeoAhimsa Dec 2016 - May 2017Babson Park, MassachusettsIn my first semester at Babson, I started a business called Ahimsa, named for a core virtue of Hinduism and Buddhism. The business sold essential oil sprays used for meditation and aromatherapy. It was a project in the school’s signature ‘Foundations of Management and Entrepreneurship (‘FME’) course, in which student teams compete with each other for funding and launch rights for their business ideas. Our team survived two rounds of concept eliminations (think ‘Shark Tank’), developed our business plan, and launched Ahimsa in Q1 2017 with some seed capital from Babson. We ran the business for a term and achieved a net profit on the venture, before winding down the company at the end of freshman year. My role on the team (chosen by my peers) was that of CEO.

Sales Strategy ConsultantSafety Socket Llc Jun 2015 - Aug 2015Safety Socket is a specialty, high-strength fastener manufacturer supplying parts for aerospace, military, and high-end commercial applications. During my time there, I conducted a business analysis project -- looking at the quoting success rates on certain products to improve bidding strategy. The data was kept on incompatible systems with different nomenclature, but weeks of work led to some key insights. Some customers appeared to be using the company as a “stalking horse” for purchases elsewhere – frequently requesting quotes on a variety of parts, but seldom ordering from them. As a result of this insight, Safety Socket adopted temporary, “fence-able” price reductions for those customers to both find their indifference points (if possible) or, at a minimum, to reduce the profitability of those orders to our competitors.
