Currently embarking on working up for publication all of the table top wargaming sets I've written over the last 20 years. So far I've published sets relating to early Sumerian Warfare ("To Ur is Human"), and the War of the Pacific 1879-1884 ("It's Getting a Bit Chile"). Next set will cover the mid-years of 19th Century China ("Taiping Era"). My aim is to produce clear, original, period specific rules, rather than generic sets with bolt-ons, to a high standard at an affordable price. Oh, and to use as many bad puns as I can.The rules sets are self published and released through Amazon as hard copy and Wargame Vault as pdfs. As I have full control over the final product the final version is exactly as the designer intended.Don't knock it. Contract was with Northern Bank in Belfast. This is a wholly owned subsidiary of Danske Bank that trades under the DB name. Undertook a review of the Operations, Settlement and Confirmation processes for the Treasury and Markets Departments, covering bonds, fx, IRS etc. Reviewed SLAs with parent and developed MI pack to ensure SYSC8 compliance. Reviewed cash and settlement arrangements to establish full segregation from parent for regulatory purposes. Completed background work on implementation of BrokerTec and proposed membership of RepoClear, developing outline project plan and project submissions. Oversaw and developed booking methodology for TFS drawdowns from the Bank of England

I provided Treasury Operations expertise as well as leadership in setting up the Treasury Operations department which was to be based in Manchester for the ill fated William & Glyn's Bank project.The role included staff recruitment, agent bank selection, process design and pretty much anything else needed to set up a Treasury Department.It was an exciting and challenging project that was very rewarding for all of those involved. As W&G was to be a full function national bank it was an opportunity to get involved in everything you need to do to set up a bank, from designing the Operating model to the impact of regulation. Along with many others on the project its end was met with a deep regret that we were never able to go live. Certainly in respect of the Treasury project we were on course and ready to go live when required.

Exact are part of the Charter Court Financial Services Group and are entering an exciting phase of their development. They needed a Treasury Operations expert to help implement a full function Treasury Department. This was a set up from scratch project, covering all aspects of Treasury from dealing through risk to settlement, confirmations and accounting. The project involved the implementation of SWIFT & the popular Quantum Treasury Management System. Straight Through Processing was key, with all functionality being integrated. I produced full documentation of all the processes (swim lanes, set up documentation etc) and also wrote comprehensive procedure manuals.The project was rounded off by recruiting and training a full time Back Office manager.

Just finished a one year contract at the London Metal Exchange, where I was responsible for creating a Treasury function, including appointing Investment Managers, Custodians (gold & securities), bankers and SWIFT bureau. I also wrote policy papers, and functional specifications for the Treasury aspects of the new clearing system.I'm currently taking a well-earned break, whilst looking for Treasury related roles.
