Project Manager

London, United Kingdom

I worked on a project to make sure that Bank applications made compliant within the NatWest Millennium programme maintained that compliance up to and through the Year 2000. This included work in defining the strategic development and subsequent development of the “Year 2000 Clean Management process”. Carried out Business Analysis to ensure that emerging systems application code would not compromise previously proven compliant systems. This involved:- Monitoring the deployment / decommissioning of systems, - Highlighting and escalating risks and issues. - Auditing Bank Applications for Year 2000 compliance and issuing Proof of Compliance certification. - Reviewing Test Approaches and plans and conforming to System Development Process (SDP) guidelines. - Enforcing the procedures preventing projects infringing the Change Freeze period. - Analysing and discussing risks and issues with projects and determining an appropriate way forward. - Responsibility for advising on all aspects of Future Date Testing and ensuring that all information accrued was secure and archived for 3 years. Managed a team of technicians whose task was to build and ‘age’ a ‘Test Pack’ for use in testing the major Retail Bank applications and their compliance to Year 2000 standards. This was used for all future proving of the Bank’s mainframe applications and would produce a testing mechanism that could prove that the Bank's applications would run in the Millennium. This would ultimately be used to provide a base for all future end-to-end application Testing. Project managed work to define the requirements for a mainframe computer system that would be used to replicate the production environment and then manage the implementation. This would run Release Testing against the main Retail Bank applications. This covered the definition of hardware/software and connectivity from the mainframe through to the Bank end user.
