2022 update: As dynamics change so do our needs, it was to my surprise that the new owner of MJL Engineering asked me to come back and join their team this year and they made me an offer that I could not refuse. I had the honour of working with some of the most excellent, knowledgeable and proficient people in civil engineering at the City of Mission and will forever be grateful for the opportunity that Jay Jackman gave me, he was willing to take a chance with me and was an excellent manager who takes pride in his work and involvement in shaping the future of the City of Mission. I decided to go back to MJL and accepted their offer. I re-joined the team in February 2022 as their Senior Civil Project manager. Currently I am managing 2 people with the potential to increase our team so we can take on bigger, better, and more challenging projects for our clients. Working with Civil technology has been, and currently is, very rewarding and working hard has allowed me to further my career in a dynamic and challenging environment with some of the best people in the industry.When I decided to take forestry in 2003 I was unaware what a rewarding and diverse career lay ahead of me. During my forestry diploma course at Selkirk College I was introduced to GIS. This fascinated me and I worked with many different sectors including civil development, oil and gas, native affairs, and general mapping. After working in GIS for approximately 10 years I gained an avid interest in Civil technology. To date I have been directly involved in over 100 civil projects including simple subdivisions to complex strata subdivisions, road design & improvements, erosion and sediment control plans, and many other projects involving civil and structural engineering. Having direct experience in estimates & proposals, project management, field inspections & overview have given me the skillset to provide exceptional service to my company and clients. I am experienced in detailed 3D design & modelling as well as water flow analysis, both in pipes and on the surface. I am extremely proficient in ACAD Civil 3D as well as many other programs including the full Microsoft office suite and the open license equivalents. I am the systems administrator and technical support for our office. I enjoy a challenging environment and am always looking to improve my skill set.2020 update: I have accomplished my ultimate goal and have now accepted a position with the District Of Mission as an Engineering Technologist I - Development. I worked hard for 13 years to get to this position and I love it.
