• providing leadership and direction for the Software Development Team in developing quality software and supporting live services, across multi-specialist functions (Development & Test)• line management of the Development and Test Leads including coaching, monthly 1-2-1’s, reviews and training needs• recruiting staff (externally and internally) into the Software Development Team with appropriate experience and qualifications• managing multiple software development projects, ensuring that appropriate procedures, processes, tools, methodologies and staffing levels are in place for all software development activities and for live services • responsible for managing estimates (cost and time) of new developments and provide commentary to senior management.• providing advice and suggestions to the head of IT r on technological advances within the Software Development environment to contribute to the overall IT Services Strategy• set, monitor and manage the achievement of software development team targets by allocating resources appropriately• representing the Software Development Team at all project development meetings, including design, reviews, project team meetings • liaising between Software Development Team, Product Owner, Project Manager, senior managers, internal and external customers, suppliers, other awarding bodies and regulatory bodies• deputising for the IT Services Manager as necessary• analysing software requirements, creating and implementing design plans where applicable• ensuring any technical solutions are sound, with appropriate consideration for performance, scalability, security and supportability• assessing the level of risk of new developments on the technical architecture and communicate this to the IT Services Manager• keeping skills up to date with regards to latest technologies, identifying new technologies which could improve software development, processes and practices

* Line management of the development team ( 4 developers), including monthly 1-2-1’s. 6 and 12 monthly reviews, performance management and reviews, career development, organizing training and addressing training needs, setting objectives, resource planning.* SCRUM master. Working on various projects using AGILE methodologies. Managing SCRUM team of 4 developers, 1 Senior developer, 2 testers, a test analysts and various product owners and stakeholders from the business. Certified Scrum Master achieved October 2015.* Liaising with the business to ensure that delivered projects are maintained and high level of customer service is provided by all * Keeping up-to-date with latest developments in the IT sector particularly around the education sector. * Keeping up-to-date with latest developments in AGILE management and team leadership. * Strategic planning for future business requirements based on current business plans. * Responsible for the allocation of work as well as future planning and resourcing for upcoming projects.* Reporting to Senior management team about project progress and being responsible for the overall delivery of projects to the company..* Facilitating SCRUM meetings, including daily stand up, sprint planning, sprint review and retrospective.* Managing projects and workloads, ensure that project impediments are removed and that adequate resources are amiable to deliver projects.
