I was the (Group) Property Manager dealing with all central contracts and facilities relating to buildings, insurance, compliance works and programmes. For a good portion of my time at Jarvis I also managed the live capital improvement projects. I dealt with 2 major insurance claims recovering circa £1m on both occassions. At the peak during my time at Jarvis we reached 69 properties.• Successfully managed internal stakeholders, external consultants, contractors, and direct suppliers to ensure programmed delivery of a raft of multi-faceted projects to best suit Company trading requirements and maximize revenues.• Two key hotels redeveloped at £4.5m each alongside ten other substantial refurbishment projects.• Procedures and programmes to manage statutory obligations successfully implemented inside 12 months.• Central and local supplier base reduced and improved by introducing formal vetting procedures for contractors and consultants. • Cost management improved by careful use of turnkey suppliers and management reporting tools.• Maintenance & statutory management contracts (asbestos, mechanical services etc) re-evaluated and rationalised to improve service and reduce costs.• Sourcing and managing suppliers, contractors, & consultants including price and contract negotiations.• Reduced costs through rationalisation of central contracts including improved asset management control.

• The Royal Bank of Scotland plc• Project Management on a wide variety of existing commercial properties• Property Department project lead when the bank tendered for then acquire, fitted out and operate a property for the Halifax share issue with 1400 staff and 2 new computer rooms (including 20 people and a computer room in place 2 weeks from acquisition).• Return on investment was king giving exciting fast moving rapidly changing but strictly controlled projects. RBS invested in any opportunity that showed a return.• Responsible for all “facilities” and property related matters for a varied portfolio of properties in the South East• Management of various office spaces and substantial office moves (up to 200 people in various buildings)• Procurement of construction and supplier services, (including sourcing suppliers and consultants and preparation of tender and contract documents).Working with RBS new business start ups to deliver new space and facilities for them to operate including validating the proposed investment in property and infrastructure against their business case - but primarily delivering their property and infrastructure to operate their new business.Secondment to and work for Security Department including upgrading what was then the London Cash Centre to meet improved security standards and improve efficiency.
