I have worked in the drilling industry for more than 30 years, starting offshore in the North Sea working for various drilling contractors. In 1996 I decided to work in directional drilling for the challenge and job satisfaction it gave me.I have extensive experience drilling in the North Sea, West Africa and South America using the latest technologies, including slickbore systems, RSS and adjustable gauge stabilizers. I have also worked in Russia, the Middle East and Australia and always enjoyed the experience of traveling to new destinations.Currently I am a senior directional drilling coordinator, a position I have held for six years. My duties range from coordinating tools and equipment and personnel, to recommending drilling assemblies and procedures for customers.The work is challenging and I enjoy it, especially the working relationships I have with the directional drillers and the great satisfaction I get from working directly with the clients, helping them identify directional drilling solutions that improve and optimize their drilling operationsOn November 1st 2013 I will start in a new position as the directional drilling technical advisor for the Mid Continent and am looking forward to dealing with the new challenges this position will undoubtedly bring.
