I joined the leadership team of Emissis for two main reasons, the culture of the organisation its values, purpose and vision are aligned to my own and the energy and carbon emissions reduction technology that the company delivers to its clients.The company has acquired some unique technology that reduces energy consumption by 15-40% and resultant carbon emissions of heating, air-conditioning and refrigeration systems. This technology is being used by major brands globally.The Climate Change Act commits governments by law to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 100% of 1990 levels (net zero) by 2050. This legislation requires companies to prepare non-financial statements that include their Environmental, Social and Governance policies, risks, and results including the impact of their activities on people and the environment. Increasingly, organisations are held accountable for their negative impacts on the environment and are required to prove the veracity of their sustainability claims.There are an estimated 1.4 billion fridges and freezers in the world today, 2.1 billion air conditioning units, and countless refrigerated lorries, warehouses, containers, medical appliances and other devices that require cooling. Taken together, they represent a major problem for the climate. The use of Air-conditioning and refrigeration is growing globally fuelled by the growth in the economies of developing countries, the warming of the planet and the growth in population.Emissis delivers technology that significantly lowers the impact of this growing environmental challenge and helps our clients demonstrate their green credentials through energy use reduction.
