(BS5750 pt 1 registered)Responsibilities included; recruitment, technical leadership and management of a team of up to 20 multi-disciplined engineers, planning and setting up of teams for projects, technical support to the sales team and design authority for all technical output of the company. I also undertook the Project Leadership of Safety Related projects having responsibility for system design, planning and monitoring the activities of the project team members, clarification of technical queries with the customer, document preparation, test and final customer acceptance.

Responsible for technical leadership and supervision of up to 12 multi-disciplined engineers, planning and setting up of teams for projects and customer support and technical support of sales in new bid or planned products. Also acted as team leader/member on several projects. Projects completed used in most cases custom designed and built hardware based around Z80 microprocessors but PCs, TRS80s and Psion Organisers were also used. The software was written in Pascal, Forth, C or Z80 assembler

Team leader/member responsible for supervising the activities of a small team (up to 3) engineers developing hardware and software for microprocessor based systems together with proposal activities for new projects. Projects completed used custom designed and built hardware based around Z80 microprocessors, the project software was normally written in Z80 assembler

Responsible for the design of a new range of plug-in Eurocards to replace the 8080 based system originally designed, at this time there was no obvious "bus standard" so we designed our own. These cards (processor, memory, serial interface, slave processor, colour monitor interface) were based on the Z80 microprocessor. He was also responsible for the complete design (software, electronic, electrical and mechanical) of a number of microprocessor based systems

During this period at Sension I used both analogue and digital techniques in the design of several pieces of electronic equipment. I also assisted in the design of the first microprocessor based systems undertaken by the company, the software was hand coded 8080 assembler.
