16 years as a practicing emergency physician and 10 as an informatics & technology leader: I'm all about health care delivery, optimal and efficient care, and evidence-based medicine. I now work on transforming our healthcare delivery through tech, AI, and innovation at The Permanente Medical Group (TPMG) supporting 10,000 physicians. I am also the creator and founder of MDCalc, a trusted online tool used by about 2/3 of US physicians every month. We provide free clinical decision support tools and calculators to millions of health care professionals worldwide. MDCalc is based on the latest medical research and guidelines, and aims to empower clinicians to make better decisions and improve patient care. In addition, I am a co-author of the Physicians' Charter for Responsible AI, a global declaration of professional values and responsibilities as medicine moves rapidly toward AI tools at the point of care.
