Supporting students with additional needs, including EAL students. I mostly worked at Fortrose Academy and Culbokie Primary School. I spent a lot of time supporting students with Mathematics. At Culbokie, I spent a term working in the nursery.

Tutored children and adults to improve their English, prepare for public Mathematics and English exams, school entrance interviews, job interviews and moving to a western country.

Co-wrote English language textbooks for Longman/Pearson (Target English, Forms 1&2), Oxford University Press (Easy English, Forms 4&5 – to let students know the exam format with simplified texts), Commercial Press (Junior S1&2 for China) and in 2020 a bridging workbook for Shung Tak Catholic English College.

I ran transition courses for new S1 students at Creative Secondary School (CSS) and Shung Tak Catholic Secondary School. The CSS course included hiring school teachers and student volunteers to help new students become aware of the curriculum and International Baccalaureate philosophy. From 2004 to 2009, I also ran a 'Speaking with Confidence' project in several English medium schools, including Heep Yunn School, SKH Tsang Shiu Tim Secondary School and St. Catharine’s School for Girls. Activities included debating, mock trials, stand-up comedy training and TV presenting courses with TVB English newsreaders.

Co-taught English lessons with P1 to P6 students. Activities included introducing a phonics programme, visits by foreign exchange students and producing videos. I filmed and edited the last six videos here - http://www.hytps.edu.hk/11CampusTV/eng.htm .

Set up and ran annual Intercultural Fair with AFS. About 900 local students met cultural exchange students and ethnic minority students from over 20 different cultures.

Proofread and wrote materials for HKedCity’s English Campus website, including the ‘Ask Graham’ language advice column, an SBA presentation guide and TVnews (English TV news exercises based on TVB news clips).

Main duties included oral lessons to S1-7 & teaching an S3 English class. Initiatives included a RED (Read English Daily) scheme to encourage reading aloud, establishing exchanges with an ESF school, running beach cleanups with Goldman Sachs staff and helping train English rock bands with the Music Department.

Managed project to bring ESF closer to local schools. Activities included training students to teach at local schools & a voluntary project between Beacon Hill School staff and local village primary schools. Managed and taught EAL courses in local schools.Also taught holiday EAL courses and did supply teaching at Jockey Club Sarah Roe School within this role.
