In the scenario of ArtRising.ie this is applied like so. An Artist (User) uploads their artwork for sale on the website and the customer of this artwork has the ability to buy the artwork from the website. In this process they have the option of choosing various different frames, frame sizes and frame types/colours. The Image Data Validator analyses the uploaded artwork:image and gathers, most importantly the ratio of the image. It then uses this information to overlay an :image of the customer selected picture frame (transparent PNG format) of the right dimensions and align it perfectly to the underlying image creating responsive seamlessly layered <​DIV> compositions. The customer will be able to choose different frame types and these frames will be updated and overlayed at the customers command. The methodology for this is one of reducing storage and bandwidth usage on the server. The frame overlays will be loaded into the customers browser just once thus reducing the need for storing or downloading multiple duplicate KiloBytes in image data at every product variant upload or request.Work in Progress: Advanced Site Search which incorporates a search based upon the colours which appear in the uploaded artwork. Kaleidoscope Gem stores LAB colour data and renders it searchable based upon matching colour derived from Euclidean distance.
