• Enhanced groundfish and shellfish fishery management as a fishery monitor, data-gatherer, and enforcement mechanism onboard commercial fishing vessels in the Bering Sea and Gulf of Alaska.
• Provided state and federal regulatory agencies with independent data on species composition and bycatch, CPUE, size frequency distributions, diseases, fecundity, and mortality associated with fishing efforts.
• Duties included reporting catch information and fishing activity; sampling at sea for species composition; biological data collection; and sampling retained catches for regulatory compliance.

Duluth, Minnesota Area

• Assisted professors and graduate students with a variety of fisheries research topics in laboratory and field studies through the University of Minnesota at Duluth.
• Research tasks included fish collection and measurement, tagging, aging, sexing, and hydroacoustic monitoring.
• Assisted with Lake Superior fish collection and bottom trawling in Ashland, WI, and video monitoring of invasive carp behavior in Havana, Illinois.
