Accountable for developing Management team, recruiting high calibre Managers and Supervisors. Cost controls and profit protection. Ensuring all transitional season changes are commercial and achieved on time. Liaising with Regional Managers and buying teams. Controlling stock levels to ensure accurate replenishment through deliveries, and all other aspects of Senior Management.

Since joining in 2008, the store has evolved and gone through 2 major expansion refits and is now a Mega Flagship Store with increased turnover and footage, currently the largest in the company. Within this role, I am held primarily responsible for maximizing sales through customer service. Responsibilities include Customer service, Driving sales, People management, Customer conversion, Coaching and developing, Team knowledge and morale, Profit protection and Security, Recruitment and retention, Disciplinary and grievance, Health and safety, Payroll and costs.Every year I have been at the store, we have been number one in the company on a number of the service KPI's, setting a new record year on year for single week gift card sales (72.5k in week 51 in 2015).

During my time at Matalan I was responsible for the effective running of the Mens and Home departments, with some additional experience on womenswear.. Responsibilities included Delivery processing, Driving stock to the sales floor, Replenishment, Stock control, delivering visual layouts, Sale and markdown activity, Driving sales through effective merchandising and service, Developing the team.

Starting my career at 17 I worked in a bowling alley with attached nightclubs. Starting in the food diner I worked my way through every department, eventually becoming a Manager at age 20, managing across 3 venues managing a large team and gaining valuable experience dealing with difficult and often intoxicated customers. This set me in good stead for my future role with the public in my retail career.
