I started my career in service in 1978 with a summer job as a dishwasher at a high end resort in the Adirondack mountains in northern New York State. The resort was actually an old seasonal estate of a wealthy NYC family from the early 1900's. Perhaps that was the first sign where my career was headed.Studying Bio-Chemistry in college did little to change my course. My natural tendency and ability toward service eventually won out. I worked in a number of well respected restaurants and eventually made my way into hotel management. I had the good fortune during this time to work with some amazing people. Fellow waiters, captains, managers and chefs who inspired and educated me along the way have left their indelible mark on me and left me always striving to do the best I can.I became a Butler purely by chance in 1989. Over 27 years later I am still working in private homes! I have never forgotten my roots, so even during my work as an Estate Manager, I always approached my work an attitude of wanting to serve.What an amazing career I have chosen. It has allowed me to see and do things I would never have imagined could exist. I have never been "wide-eyed" over the life style I have been privileged to work in, just appreciative. As an elder statesmen (though I am still young) in this industry, it brings me great joy to try and help others grow and learn as they either enter the private service field or attempt to move up to more responsible positions. For myself, I take pride in delivering a job well done.Taking this experience one step further brings me to The Wolf Service: A company I am currently building to help all those, both individuals and service vendors, who work in private homes, to reach a higher level of performance and service. The goal is to help and educate those already in service to do a better job for their employers. My hands on approach, teaching and working with others in the homes they serve is truly unique.
