I am an experienced health and medical researcher and academic leader, having developed and led research programs in multidisciplinary team settings in major Australian universities and health care precincts. Best known for collaborative studies of cancer genomics and epidemiology, I am particularly proud of the impacts they have had on melanoma prevention, care and cure.More recently I have been privileged to lead the John Curtin School of Medical Research as its 16th Director and to join the exciting programs of the National Centre for Indigenous Genomics and the ALIGN initiative. I played a key role in developing a new strategic framework for health research in the ACT, bringing together stakeholders across the sector, and have high hopes for transformation of the ACT to a learning system that delivers ever-increasing value in health for all.I can draw on extensive experience in University and research institute management, strategic development and evaluation of performance.
