About Graham Rowe
I am a passionate engineer with a desire to learn and an incredibly creative mindset. My main goal with any problem I am confronted with is to optimize the solution as much as I can with the given resources and time. And I've had ample chances to do so with the various technical projects and technical internships I've undertaken.Formula UBC has invigorated my passion for engineering and motor sports, and to be frank, is the coolest thing I've ever been a part of. Building a car every every 8 months for an international competition has given me the skills and mindset to thrive in a fast paced, high stakes environment where the limit is challenged every time we start the engine. I'm interested in technical topics such as composite manufacturing, vehicle dynamics, topology optimization and just generally smart mechanical design, as well as non technical activities like music and outdoor sports. If you want to learn more about my passions, skills and interests, feel free to contact me here. I look forward to hearing about interesting opportunities!
Listed skills include Computer Aided Design, Engineering Drawings, Finite Element Analysis, Vehicle Dynamics, and 16 others.

Suspension Team Member
Formula UBC Racing has provided me with an extension of my learning experience far beyond anything I could have hoped for in university.
Ground Worker
Engineering Testing Co-Op
My second co-op term at Zaber I redesigned and improved a lead screw incoming quality control tester. The tester used a microscope camera and a high precision linear stage to scan lead screw stock and report the expected error of the stock prior to it being built into stages. This reduced the number of stages that were out of specification and allowed the.
Engineering Testing Co-Op
I ran various product spec testing, including aiding in the launch of Zaber's then new linear motor devices. This work involved the design and rapid manufacturing of test jigs to match the much improved performance of the new devices. My term project was to iron out all the kinks in a linear thrust vs speed tester. I developed software in python and.
Engineering Summer Student
I designed and fabricated 3 testing jigs for evaluating existing and up and coming products. I was tasked with creating a more accurate and user-friendly version of their current bicycle dynamometer, used to verify the reading of the company's power meter. As the main engineer assigned to the project, I applied a broad skill set to design and build the.
