Graham Language Services is the company of professional linguist David Graham. I spent six years studying translation at Dublin City University - including a year spent in Munich and Innsbruck - and have been a full-time German to English translator since 1999. I began my professional career in Mainz, Germany, where I spent 18 months in a specialist financial translation house before moving back to Dublin, where I worked for over four years in a software localization company post-editing machine translation output for SAP. I have been working independently as a freelance translator since 2005, specialising in financial translation and corporate communications for German financial services firms and management consultancies. I also work in the public sector for the German government.Language is my business. I help companies and government departments reach a wider international audience with confidence. I produce fluent translations that accurately convey the intent of the source text, using appropriate language and terminology.I provide publication-ready translations in the following areas: Annual and interim financial accounting and reporting Auditing Investor relations Offering prospectuses and securities Articles of association, company agreements and other contracts Corporate governance Management reporting Marketing and advertising General business communications and PowerPoint presentationsMy services also include English editing and the revision of existing translations.

I have been a part-time member of staff at UNTSI since 2011 and have been involved, both as a student and instructor, in the full range of courses we offer to national and international military, police and civilian personnel. I have completed numerous courses at UNTSI including Human Rights, Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC), UN OCHA Humanitarian Civil-Military Coordination (UN-CMCoord), Protection of Civilians, DCAF Advanced Security Sector Reform (SSR), DCAF Security, Governance & Justice Reform (SGJR) and Cultural Property Protection. In 2022 I joined the Expert Roster of the International Security Sector Advisory Team of the Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance (DCAF-ISSAT).I have a particular interest in the area of interpreting and the use of interpreters by Defence Forces personnel on overseas operations.

I work at the School of Applied Language and Translation Studies teaching a German to English translation module to second year students and a non-core German Language module to first year students.

I spent 19 years as a member of 62 Reserve Cavalry Squadron (formerly 11 Cavalry Squadron).
