The Business Career Hub at the Ted Rogers School of Management provides customized approaches to supporting students along their path to meaningful careers. As the Director of the Business Career Hub, I provide leadership in the development of programs and services that connect TRSM students with career launching opportunities while growing high level partnerships with the business community.

As the Vice President, Partnerships & Recruitment for Career Edge I oversaw both the Recruitment and Strategic Partnerships activities for an organization dedicated to launching the careers of recent graduates, graduates with self-declared disabilities and Canadian newcomers. A self-sustaining, not for profit enterprise, Career Edge partners with organizations across Canada including universities, settlement agencies, bridging programs and advocacy groups.

As the Director of Recruitment for Career Edge I led the sourcing and recruitment activities to identify top talent including recent graduates, graduates with self-declared disabilities and globally trained professionals. In 2015, Career Edge extended the internship model to include Canadian Armed Forces Reservists. Role included projects to improve candidate experience and enhance the applicant tracking system (ATS) while providing continuous training to staff members and stakeholders. Constant engagement with universities across Ontario and regular speaker at conferences and forums focused on diversity, inclusivity and emerging legislation impacting recruitment.

As the Manager, Member Network with Certified Management Accountants of Ontario (now Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario), I led a diverse team of professionals across Ontario. Managed the planning and execution of more than 200 networking events annually. This included developing channel partnerships, financial oversight, budgeting, project management and market analysis. Successfully managed 9 District Committees and more than 85 community volunteers while taking a lead role in identifying partners for collaboration, content and co-branding for Member Network programs.In 2012, successfully planned and executed CMA Ontario’s 2012 Convocation Ceremony. With more than 4,000 attendees and 1,230 graduates this was the largest graduating class of any professional accounting body in Canada.

Mandate was to partner with leading employers, academic institutions and service providers to help members grow in their career. Consulted with organizations looking to hire CMAs and developed programs that will enhance their visibility to the membership. For two years, I designed and enhanced CMA Ontario’s Elite Employer Program building relationships with Ontario recruiters and firms who target top finance and accounting talent. Successfully grew the program from 10 companies to more than 75 strategic partners.For CMA Members, provided career coaching, resume development and personal branding consultation. Developed content for various blogs and weekly communications including moderating a forum on mycmacommunity.comRegular guest speaker on campus discussing topics such as personal branding, leveraging Linkedin and developing and executing a strategic career search.

Provided exceptional service to a diverse group of clients, while identifying and developing new business opportunities. Responsible for temporary, contract and permanent search. Sourced talent for several leading employers in the finance, accounting, technology and telecommunications industries. . Privileged to work with green companies and not-for-profit organizations.Coached and mentored new team members. As a Power Coach I played an active role in onboarding new hires.

Successfully managed the recruitment and selection process of temporary and permanent staffing for many of Toronto’s leading and most innovative companies.

Managed a variety of recreation programs for the Town of Ajax, Leisure Services Department. Provided quality services to external customers while coordinating recruitment and training functions.
