On the "Rome" project (aka V1), I help develop the new printer software, as well as some of the support applications - this included the installer (using NSIS), SOS Capsule (a post-error information gathering tool), WatchMode (an external tool used to interrogate the sensors and gather motor statistics while the printer is running - all without interfering with the print process), and a few others.The main project and most of the supporting applications are developed in C# using WPF (MVVM). I have migrated parts of our code libraries to use .Net Standard 2.0 (where possible) and implemented .Net Core 2.1 projects to test them (using NUnit & NSubstitue).I am also one of two people who manage our Git repositories (on Bitbucket Server), as well as looking after the build server (TeamCity).

My role on the v10 Printer Software was to help develop the software and its features using C#. Part of this was refactoring older code to follow better coding patterns, as well as making it (as much as possible) unit testable. This involved reducing tightly coupled code by introducing dependency injection (using Ninject) and replacing events with a messaging system (TinyMessenger).We always tried to follow TDD where possible and used NUnit with NSubstitue when creating unit tests.I was part of a small team that replaced the existing ADO access to the database with Entity Framework 6 (Code First), and introduced product syncing over the network.I was also responsible for setting up and configuring the automated branch builds on TeamCity, which was used to check that all unit tests passed and that the code would still compile before Bitbucket would allow us to merge our pull request.We found that Microsoft's Code Contracts (which we had implemented in most of our code to help check that the Ninject was working correctly) was not compatible with Visual Studio 2015 and up, I took it upon myself to replace it with a "home brewed" version during my spare time. This was well received by both my colleagues and management, as it allowed us to upgrade from VS 2013 to VS 2015.I was also asked to move to the sustaining team, so I could help mentor some of the Graduate Developers.

My main role was to maintain and develop the MiLab AI project, which is a VB.net (WinForms) program that sits on a windows tablet, and communicates with two analysers (one Chemistry, and one Haematology) via TCP/IP and serial, and integrates (by way of VetXML) with various PMS (Patient Management Systems). The idea behind the project is to reduce the need for vets to send the samples away to big laboratories, as they can perform basic tests in-house. My secondary role was to assist with general IT support if the main Support Technician was busy. This could be anything from helping users with general Windows issues, to resolving printer errors, as well as dealing with any other calls that came to the department.

I worked with a small team of VB.net Developers to maintain (and develop new functionally in) an EDMS (Electronic Document Management System) called “WinDIP Enterprise” - this is primarily used by the NHS.The program is designed to capture both electronic and carbon copies of sensitive information / documents and save them in a secure, encrypted format. These documents would then be accessible over the network using the EDMS.Security is a BIG part of the EDMS, and as such, a lot of information (including settings like user passwords, patient details, etc.) has to be stored in an encrypted / hashed format in a database, such as SQL Server 2008.
