My passion is using data to make quick and calculated decisions based on the results hidden therein. This passion was sparked while I was working as a Research Assistant during my undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. My lab focused on predictive modeling of climate change and the coastal response to these changes. Here, I learned the power of data and the magnitude of the insights that can be drawn from it.In my professional career, I've learned the value of these data-driven insights. Working in Civil Engineering, I was able to put into practice my analytical skills and also see how data can be used by businesses to make better, more effective decisions. Through my work, the business learned how to take a more targeted and efficient approach to projects, and I learned that my real passion was not just for analysis, but for making valuable contributions based on that analysis.As a Business Analyst working in financial services, I've had the opportunity to do this in spades. Auto lending is a competitive, ever-evolving industry, and our analytics must be able to quickly respond to a dynamic market. I work everyday to draw new insights from our vast datasources, determine the value of these insights, and explain these results in a way that all business units can appreciate.As I've grown in experience, I've also grown in skills. My current skillset includes proficiency in Python and many of its statistical modeling and graphical interface modules, SQL and associated BI reporting tools, HTML, Microsoft's Office and Azure Cloud suites of tools, and GitHub. I also have experience with R, C#, C++, SAS (including Enterprise Miner), and the Agile framework. To me, programming is as much a hobby as a professional skill, and I am always working to learn and improve.
