Leading a cross-functional remote team of designers, developers and digital marketeers, I was responsible for ensuring successful delivery of a digital project for our client. I worked on the product, a revamped website, from concept right through to delivery, implementing agile methodology and SCRUM framework throughout the project. These roles required adapting to an international work environment and using Spanish as my primary language. Working in a large primary school, I assisted in developing lesson plans based on Xunta de Galicia requirements and the specific needs of each child. I worked with children aged 6-12 in the classroom to promote their learning and development through the subjects of English and Art. Dare to be Digital, which was run in Ireland by The Digital Hub through the Diageo Liberties Learning Initiative and was supported by Enterprise Ireland and IDA Ireland, provided teams with the opportunity of developing their own games and presenting them to leading figures in the Irish and British gaming sectors, with the goal to win and produce the game.I headed a cross-functional team of coders and designers from three different universities as we successfully pitched my game concept, "Stampede" for a place in the Ireland Final, where we faced a panel of industry experts. The concept was to be developed for the then 'emerging' mobile platform and was focused on providing a repeatable gaming experience for users between ages 6 - 18. Using illustrated backgrounds and punchy character designs to support the narrative style of game-play, the concept included learning for younger users.
