Germaine Ramen Schmidt Email and Phone Number
My journey started in South Africa, where I was part of an international group facilitating workshops on South Africa's unique path of Nation-building through Truth and Reconciliation. It was this passion for people and their unique stories that kick-started my professional career in Tech recruitment. My passion for talent development led me to a role as a talent specialist for one of the big four global consulting firms. Having been presented with an opportunity to combine my passion for IT and people development, I joined Africa's largest bank where I spearheaded the creation of an internal innovation platform, which was targeted at more than 6,000 staff and encompassed bridging the gap between corporate business and marginalized communities through Diversity & Inclusion initiatives. The quest didn’t stop there...My relocation to Germany in 2018 broadened my horizons, exposing me to cross-global DEI&B (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging) initiatives. As my lived experience and cultural emersion was tested, I became acutely aware that diversity can mean many different things in different countries. In 2022, Canada beckoned, and I eagerly brought my experience to the Diversity Institute, Toronto. But my story isn’t just about career milestones or my 15 years of collective global experience in recruitment and DEI consulting. Through all this I realized that organizations may often be at different stages in their DEI&B journey, but one common thread remains: Our collective desire to build an engaged workforce that excels and performs at its best. This goes far beyond recruitment and helping build a pipeline, It takes a conscious effort and ongoing commitment across the organization, but IT STARTS WITH YOU!
