I'm proud to showcase the successes at Brandon University, where I lead a marketing, communications and web team that helps support excellence in teaching, research, and scholarship, educating students so they can make a meaningful difference as engaged citizens and leaders.

At my alma mater, I was a key part of an administrative team that engaged with our students, faculty, staff and community, informing and yes, entertaining, while sharing the many successes at our compact, cozy campus.

At this growing community college, I marketed our Enterprise Division, which contained Continuing Studies, Contract Training, Adult Collegiate and International offerings. I brought a nimble approach to this wide-ranging and diverse division, with an emphasis on social media and earned mentions of the success our graduates accomplish.

As a member of the executive board for Unifor Local 191, I met regularly with other members to carry on the business of the local. It is a large local, geographically, and represent a diverse range of shops. The local was formerly a member of the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union, which was a founding member of Unifor in 2013. As a shop steward at the Brandon Sun, I assisted my fellow union members in building a strong, progressive workplace, from the membership up.

Continual refreshing of breaking news throughout the day, including graphics and maps. Responsible for our social media accounts, including Facebook and Twitter integration.

General duties included layout of special sections and supplements, maps and other graphic elements on the page, as well as maintaining stylesheets and page templates.Special duties included newspaper redesign and from-scratch design of weekly supplements and magazine inserts.Responsible for video content, including scripts, videography and non-linear editing for web, as well as livestreaming.

Co-ordinated all aspects of the Weekend magazine supplement, including management of columnist contributors, assignment of photography, editing and layout. Was also instrumental in the original conception and design of the supplement, in 2010, including typography and other related styles.

Reporter, photographer and paginator for a tabloid (then broadsheet) supplement to the Brandon Sun. Published weekly or semi-weekly, focused on hyperlocal "good news". Managed a stable of contributing columnists as well as generating my own news stories.

Instructor of introductory journalism classes at the undergraduate level.

Managed a stable of regular contributors, booked ads and co-ordinated all aspects of running the editorial side of this weekly publication.
