About Alexander Gramolin
I'm an experimental physicist with a background in high-precision measurements and broad experience in hardware and software. Being enthusiastic about quantum computing, I want to use my talent to help develop this emerging technology. For my Ph.D. research, I studied the proton structure using elastic electron-proton scattering. As a member of a small team, I enjoyed the opportunity to contribute to many different aspects of a complex experiment: I built one of the tracking detectors, helped to analyze data, calculated radiative corrections critical for obtaining correct results, and led writing the manuscript. After graduating, I worked with Prof. Alex Sushkov as a postdoc in his Quantum Lab at Boston University, where my main focus was on searching for axionlike dark matter using various experimental techniques and tools, such as nuclear magnetic resonance, precision magnetometry, and superconducting quantum interference devices. I was the driving force behind the SHAFT experiment, which established some of the strongest laboratory limits on ultralight axionlike dark matter coupled to photons. Most recently, I used qubits based on nitrogen-vacancy centers in diamond to test a nonlinear modification of quantum mechanics.I love programming (in Python, C++, and MATLAB) and enjoy applying it to physics through data analysis and computer simulation. For a sample of my code, please see my GitHub portfolio (https://github.com/gramolin). I have experience in using Qiskit and IBM Quantum services, including pulse-level control and design of custom quantum gates. As a research scientist, I'm well practiced in analyzing and visualizing experimental data, making presentations and giving talks, searching and reading scientific literature, as well as writing manuscripts and getting them published. My papers have been published in top-tier journals, such as Nature Physics, Nature Communications, and Physical Review Letters (see my Google Scholar profile at https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=aWTYQPAAAAAJ). I have strong analytical skills and the ability to apply mathematical methods for solving challenging problems. Finally, I always enjoy learning new things and sharing my knowledge with others.
Listed skills include Mathematics, Presentation Skills, Optics, Physics, and 34 others.
