I always push my limits in whatever I do, whether it's school, sports, or work. I intend to be the best version of myself.At 14, I quit all sports besides soccer and dedicated myself to becoming a professional soccer player at the Sporting KC Academy. I began leaving school every day at 11:30 AM to train, sometimes with the professionals, from 1 pm-5:30 pm. This included on-field training, film, and weights.At 16, I was diagnosed with popliteal artery entrapment syndrome. This meant when I bent my legs, I was receiving no blood flow below my knees. I had to get two separate surgeries six months apart to correct this, and doctors said I may never play at a high level ever again. Subsequently, this took a massive toll on my mental health, and it put the future of my soccer career in doubt.At 18, in defiance of all my health issues, I won the Kansas Male High School Athlete of the Year ESPY award and committed to play Division 1 soccer at Saint Louis University, a 10-time Division 1 National Championship program. While I was at SLU, we won a conference championship, had an undefeated regular season, and went to the Elite Eight.Now 22, I am still figuring out what is in store for the rest of my life. However, one thing is certain: I will grow and become a better man from whatever experiences I have, positive or negative, and I will continue to pursue endeavors that allow me to grow as a person.
