Since graduating from the University of Stirling with an upper second class degree in Sport studies I have been on quite the journey. Over the past eighteen months I have fine tuned and further developed multiple skills which I acquired during my years as a student.From my four years studying I developed multiple skills such as time keeping, academic writing, analytical skills as well as developing an eye for finer details. All of these skills were put to the test in my final year as a student where I wrote a 10,000 word dissertation on how the Covid-19 outbreak impacted physical activity levels amongst older adults. During this paper I had to manage my time carefully, write in a professional academic manner, analyse data gathered from interviews/questionnaires as well as reviewing my work to ensure it met my own high standards. Ultimately I achieved a mark I was proud of in this paper at an upper second class level and I believe that from my four years in Stirling the ground works were set for what was to follow.From university I went into a summer position with golf traveller. Golf is my ultimate passion and getting to work in a high end luxury travel industry around the summer of the 150th open championship at St Andrews is an experience that I will never forget. During that summer I gained a taste and insight in to the professional working environment which was both eye opening as well as extremely beneficial from studying at my own pace for the last four years. During my 3 month spell at Golf Traveller I would say that I found out that I had to raise my level to succeed in the world of work as well as developing a confidence and understanding of what was required within a professional private company.From January 2023 I have been employed by Astrak as a logistic Coordinator and I can honestly say I have loved every moment. From my past experiences I believe that working for Astrak (a company who believe in developing and teaching young graduates) that my skills have grown enormously. I have developed a confidence and general professionalism that has allowed me to be a part of and lead multiple projects such as implementing a tracking app for our customers to track their own orders from their phone as well as developing systems in which we can closely monitor our couriers. I also believe that from working with Astrak for over a year now that I have taken vast professional knowledge from my colleagues that well serve me well both now as well as in the future. With this I must admit that I am excited to see what the future may hold for me.
