I am skilled in photogrammetry and 3D environment art and expert in 3D printing. I'm seeking work in stop-motion animation. I have 30 years of experience working in art starting with ceramic clay, moving quickly to polymer clay, and later to metal clay, then digital fabrication, including CNC milling, laser cutting, ZUND, and CNC embroidery. Most recently, I spent 9 months studying Environment Art at Vertex School, where I learned to use my photogrammetry skills in the… Show more I am skilled in photogrammetry and 3D environment art and expert in 3D printing. I'm seeking work in stop-motion animation. I have 30 years of experience working in art starting with ceramic clay, moving quickly to polymer clay, and later to metal clay, then digital fabrication, including CNC milling, laser cutting, ZUND, and CNC embroidery. Most recently, I spent 9 months studying Environment Art at Vertex School, where I learned to use my photogrammetry skills in the entertainment industry.Previously, I spent 3 1/2 years at Model-No., where I worked as Director of 3D Printing, building the department from the ground up. We created a sustainable on-demand manufacturing model to build and deliver modern furniture.I joined Model-No. with just an engineer and the CTO also focused on the 3D printing department, and my experience in 3D printing and my focused problem solving abilities allowed me to help carry the company from its 3D printing infancy (one large printer and a couple desktop ones) to a fully fledged 3D printing business. Along the way we built 3 very large (up to approx 1 meter cubed) machines that operate on pelletized plant-based resins. Before I left to study Environment Art, I was privileged to install and onboard a Titan Atlas (now 3D Systems) pellet-based 3D printer--a machine which I would liken to a supercar. In addition to the many tasks of running the department, I am proud to have developed a process to recycle polymer waste in-house and turn it into products.Prior to my career in digital fabrication, I worked as an independent artist, where I developed and shared innovative techniques in polymer clay and metal clay. This took me around the world teaching approximately 3 dozen workshops, many art shows, galleries and even museums as well as publishing a book and video.I have delivered many creative projects, both under my own direction and as a team member. I'm a contributing member of 5 Ton Crane, an Oakland Based Artist Collective. Show less

I ran material and process R&D and Prototyping, and I managed 3D printing production. I partnered with an agile team to bring sustainable furniture and decor products from concept to market in short order. I specialize in digital manufacturing and focused at Model No. on guiding our company's use of large format 3D printers to ensure production quality and efficiency. I created and refined production workflows and pipelines. I patiently troubleshoot and will push at problems from every angle until I find a solution. I set and oversaw digital asset naming protocols and file management. I facilitated product design by applying my experience as designer, prototyper, and fabricator to provide relevant feedback on manufacturability, production time, material needs, aesthetics, durability and mechanical performance.I oversaw 3D printing shop maintenance and operation on a daily basis. I managed staff, specified new equipment, designed, built, modifed, repaired and maintained equipment including pellet deposition 3D printers with build spaces of over a meter cubed and build rates as high as 10 lbs. per hour. I built and maintained relationships with material and hardware vendors. I identifed pain points in our production process and envisioned necessary transformations moving forward. I worked to bring our 3D printing into the future and under the umbrella of an agile Manufacturing Execution System to enable distributed local manufacturing of our products with transparent views into the entire 3DP design and production toolchain, enabling centralized monitoring of order intake, job preparation, additive production procedures, post processing, fabrication and assembly, QA/QC, shipping and delivery.I am proudest about having enabled an in-house recycling system which allows Model-No. to take polymer waste from our prototyping processes and turn it directly into usable products. Most fun was onboarding the Titan Atlas by 3D Systems Show less
