I graduated in the fall of 2020 from Iowa State with a BS in Biology and a minor in Animal Ecology. During my time at ISU, I participated in undergraduate research at various labs. Most of these projects were focused on molecular biology, specifically DNA extraction, PCR, and sequencing. At Corteva Agriscience, I worked as a Lab Tech as part of their functional cell science team. I helped produce novel plasmid vectors through restriction enzyme digestion and gel extraction. Next, I worked at Theratest Labs as a Techincal Specialist performing quality control tests on our 18+ immunoassay kits and providing support to our clients with their assays. Now I am working towards a Master of Environmental Science at Loyola University Chicago, in the lab of Dr. Reuben Keller, focusing on invasive species in the Great Lake ecosystem.
