Undergraduate Researcher|Team Lead
• I lead a team of graduate students in a cross disciplinary collaboration project between multiple Georgia Teach Lab to build a rover to help decommission nuclear sites through radiation detection to eventually produce as a product• Worked on creating a robot that has the ability to collect soil sampled using a robotic arm to then do detection and analysis of radionuclides within the soil in order to determine the danger of the area and threat to the ecosystem. I am the leader of this team working with graduate students in a multi-lab effort in order to make the project become a reality. I work both in the design but also the project management parts of the project helping to keep everyone on track. I serve as the bridge between the RED^2 Lab and the CORE robotics lab as we use our unique knowledge to help form a greener future.
President | Lead Mechanical Engineer
In charge of the development of the mechanical systems of the car setting deadlines, making final decisions, managing workflow, completing official design reviews, delegating work to other mechanical members.• As a mechanical engineer completed engineering design, CAD, analytics, hand calculations, machine design, finite element analysis, model creation, design optimization, manufacturing, and product development. • Helped to create and test a composite material for the bottom half of our chassis and for suspension members to attach to. Characterized material properties using an Instron machine such to input into our computational model.• Worked on development of suspension system for a multi occupancy vehicle powered entirely by solar panels.• Manufactured solar vehicle using training on lathes, mills, cnc lathes and mills, drill presses, power tools, carbo layups, soldering, and more
Material Science Engineer
• Worked as a materials engineer making recommendations for material use based off of metallurgy in different process conditions. Became familiar with different grades of stainless steel, carbon steel, Incoloy, Duplex, and other metals including their structure, corrosion properties, and susceptibility to cracking in various conditions.•Worked on Chevrons Carbon Capture program with the new energies department helping to create the material guidelines for the transfer and storage of carbon capture, helping to reduce chevrons carbon footprint and move to a cleaner future• Learned and applied different damage mechanisms including but not limited to chloride stress corrosion cracking, Ammonium bisulfate corrosion, Wet Hydrogen Sulfide Cracking, Creep, Microbiology induced corrosion, and more.• Created dashboards using SEEQ programing in order to monitor integrity operating windows to limit damage. • Lead a project with the Chevron laboratory in order to create an ammoniated water recipe to clean out our pressure vessels and piping during shut down using various pieces of lab equipment and applying advanced chemistry.• Learned about welding procedures and bakeout and created a streamline process to discover whether the metal needs bakeout before it is welded, analyzed whether post weld heat treatment was necessary •Learned and helped execute failure analysis to prevent future mechanical and material failure
Undergraduate Researcher
• I worked to build a foot for at autonomous robot named Cassie that could detect the terrain it was traversing gather data on the terrain and change the shape of its foot to better accommodate the challenges of the terrain. • Worked on creating design in solidworks, 3d printing, soldering, and casting in silicon parts for the robotic foot
Power Train Engineer
As a powertrain engineer, I am working on improving the powertrain design for the Baja Sae Car. I utilize Solidworks for 3d visualization and manufacturing. I am currently being trained on the manual lathe and mill to learn more about different manufacturing techniques. I am currently working with another powertrain engineer to utilize Matlab to create a program that would allow us to test different CVT ratios to maximize acceleration.
Head Engineer
Researched, designed, engineered, and built our team’s FIRST Robotics robot to take to the competition field• Utilized the engineering design process leading the construction of CAD assemblies with over 100 parts in both Solid works and Fusion 360. Integrated PBS Workflow into our design model• Led members with the engineering design process, assigned roles, mentored teams to build a cooperative space• Met with local companies to secure sponsorships and funding, prepared presentations for corporate meetings• Created a business plan, expense log, and budget, operating our team as a small business• Mentored young students with their FLL team as well as attending community events to grow STEM
