Tasked with working with Architects and Engineers from other team within Teradata to create a cohesive architecture for QueryGrid in various environments. Primarily focus on the impact to QueryGrid core product and the architectural changes needed. Draft detailed Architecture Design documents and Threat Models for changes needed. Work with other Senior Engineers to define architecture and break down changes into features for smaller teams (roughly 5 per Team Leader) to complete. Oversee the completion of features from technical viewpoint. Act as role model for junior developers to help them grow and become better engineers.

Led team of ~5 developers/testers creating a REST API to deploy QueryGrid via AWS. Utilized API Gateway to trigger a Fargate task which ran python script using boto3 library and Terraform to provision QueryGrid ec2 instances and automatically configure the environment. Part of team which rewrote QueryGrid components from c++ to golang.Was principal developer for interprocess communication library used by QueryGrid processes running java, c++, and golang. Utilized unix domain sockets and shared memory along with semaphores to synchronize data transfer. Utilized JNI to allow java processes to utilize existing c++ socket and shared memory classes to make connections. Focused on availability and fast detection of failures rather than blocking for long periods of time. Maintained unit test coverage of 85%+.

Part of the QueryGrid 2.0 development team writing multithreaded, realtime software.Development work done in C++ and Java.Tools used during development include Git, Gradle, TeamCity, and JIRA.Worked primarily with Teradata Database, Presto Database, and Hive on Hadoop (both HDP and CDH).Primary development work includes:- Helped develop multithreaded C++ daemon which installs, monitors, and maintains proper configuration for other data transfer QueryGrid software- Built module which uses cURL to communicate with REST server to pull JSON configuration data and parse it into well defined structure to be used during query runtime, push logs to central location for indexing, and perform heartbeats- Worked on QueryGrid SDK (which allows external development of QueryGrid Connectors) designing and implementing QueryGrid Interface (QGI), in JAVA as a package and C++ as a shared library, both of which are dynamically loaded at runtime, which defines a set of APIs and classes to abstract communication between QueryGrid Fabric and Connector software - Used tools (such as oprofile and valgrind) to help identify performance bottlenecks and excess memory usage- Expanded unit test coverage by developing mock components to simulate more complex success and failure scenarios
