I covered SC, GA, and FL as an outside sales representative for KESCO. KESCO is a manufacturer’s representative that buys and resells Southeastern United States. I was tasked with diagnosing customer problems, proposing equipment solutions, gathering necessary information to put together quotes, and closing business. Extensive product knowledge was necessary to provide value to the customer.I managed three salesmen. This included putting together 10-15 quotes per week to support their ongoing projects. I kept track of their travel schedules and traveled with them to help close “hot” jobs. My role also involved working with our company’s finances. I created purchase orders, invoices, and commission statements. I learned how to negotiate and understand payment terms. Also, I oversaw our Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM usage. I developed CRM standards for the salesmen and helped turn our CRM system into a useful follow-up tool.

I specialized in sizing and quoting Bliss equipment. This equipment includes hammermills, pellet mills, and coolers. To accurately quote Bliss equipment, you must understand how it operates in different applications. For instance, a hammermill grinding wood is going to require more horsepower than one grinding corn. Outside of crafting quotes, I also assisted in operating a test lab.
