Day to day management of the Plant Department for HEB Structures nationwide, including external plant as well, on top of the Transport business, Mechanical, Fabrication Workshops and company Store's Department.Over 22years in this business now, and still loving the Construction Plant business - always a challenge or a problem to address. Extremely lucky to have some awesome staff, some for more than 15yrs now. Awesome new challenge to build a new and exciting Plant Team for the benefit of the entire HEB Business.

Started out on the floor, tuff days back then! Little money for Plant repairs, old gear and a heap of work to do.Managed to finish my apprenticeship very quickly, was sent to Guam then back to NZ and off to Tiwai Point.Numerous Piling Jobs, Otira Viaduct, Motunui Methanol Plant, Mokau Bridge, Route PJK in Tauranga etc.Bulk Storage Terminals - Estimated, Project Managed this little project, awesome fun.Back then, Albert Smith let you grow and take on more no matter who you were. Quickly was involved in Piling Projects - (mechanic, then operator), Crane and Machinery Operations and even Project management.During this time, growing the workshop Mechanical staff from 1 to 10!!"High risk, high reward" was the motto we seemed to live by - Fun times!!!!! Started with Albert Smith in April 1993, was a great ride and this hasn’t stopped yet. Business has changed hands and had a few names, but I’m still going strong. Wonderful employers who have continued my long service throughout. Great employers allow great employees to develop and invest. Almost 30 years to date.
