After recently assisting the brand of Yellow Freight Companies (YRC Freight, Holland, Reddaway, New Penn) through post-bankruptcy shutdown efforts, I have begun a new role as Store HR Representative with Meijer. In addition, I spearhead a recreational endeavor called 21st Century Townball (21ctownball.com). Growing up, I was very involved in church, academics, and Boy Scouts---eventually achieving the highest rank of Eagle Scout. I went to George Fox University and graduated with a BA in Management, and I have a heart for arranging people's talents with the tasks set before them.In all areas of my life, I strive to keep a holistic view of the human person and I care about helping people find what they need, meeting them where they are, relating to them on their individual level. My way of learning is sequential, and I value the process as well as the plan, but I don’t forsake the needs of myself and others in the name of getting things done. For me, good ideas come best when working case by case, but my focus is underlined with an awareness of the big picture, connecting the dots between people, variables, and problems. With a desire to plan with care, question with purpose, and connect on individual levels, I bring safety and situational savvy to the table. I am very aware that I am in the early part of my career development; I am a brook that wants to become a river, but I need knowledge and experience in order to get there. Therefore, I want to work alongside mentors and coworkers that act as tributaries of skill, experience, and wisdom who can help shape my future career goals. Even the literal game itself may also be to blame for its own demise. Twenty-First Century Townball is a compilation of the very best of what baseball and other bat-and-ball games have had to offer this country in all its various forms throughout the ages.Our mission is to bring people back to the primal game of base-ball by getting them to engage in Twenty-First Century Townball.Twenty-First Century Townball is a bat-and-ball game based upon the version of base ball played in Massachusetts before the Civil War. We took the original rules of The Massachusetts Game and projected them to what we believe the game would have become if the Massachusetts-style of play had won out over that of New York as America's National Pastime. Although this game has its origins in the nineteenth century, it wasn't brought to completion until the twenty-first. We have been playing this game regularly since 2012 and have become convinced that this may be the greatest game on the planet.We agree with many historians and ball players across the nation that the version of base ball played in Massachusetts in the nineteenth century was superior to that played in New York in many ways. However, we also recognize that The Massachusetts Game, in its original form, could not have won out over The New York Game as Our National Pastime. Twenty-First Century Townball is an attempt to rectify this.Our vision is to revive the Massachusetts style of play by making Twenty-First Century Townball a national game. -
