Supporting the research and development strategy of the Highland Council's educational psychology service. This consisted of carrying out literature reviews of existing scientific resources, analysing qualitative and quantitative data sets and reporting findings back to key stakeholders. I consulted heavily with psychologists based within the service in order to effectively design evaluations of interventions in order to detect value and inform future practice. Such work requires extensive knowledge of ethics as well as research methodology. Whilst undergoing such work, I was subject to regular supervision as well as periods of self reflection, which allows for continuous professional development.

Safe supervision and management within a leisure environment whilst working in lines with health safety guidance produced by the HSE. Alongside this, I deliver on-going training and assessment to prospective and qualified lifeguards. This entails high levels of record keeping and working within the guidelines of regulating bodies in regards to the delivery of vocational qualifications and training. Within this, I attend standardisation sessions which are delivered by external bodies as well as internal training providers who share best practice and highlight city-wide training issues.

The provision of support with a focus on recovery. The model utilised is that within the standardised assessment tool of recovery: the Independent Recovery Outcomes Counter(IROC), which taps into four constructs(Home, Opportunity, People, Empowerment). Working in conjunction with the support manager we as individuals and as a team aim to deliver high quality support to service users, and with access to supervision best practice and development needs can be discussed to develop service delivery capabilities. This also entails a degree of work in regards to maintaining appropriate records in line with the requirements of the Scottish Care Inspectorate and Scottish Social Services Council.
