I have been working in the nonprofit sector for over six years, and I am passionate about making positive social change through community outreach, fundraising, and advocacy. Currently, I am the Director of Community Affairs at Arouet. I have developed and launched a special event series, worked to streamline and standardize marketing, and built relationships throughout the community. During my time at Arouet, we have grown from a four-person organization to twelve full-time staff and over 3,000 women served. As the lead of the Arouet Storytelling program, I have trained and deployed over 100 justice-impacted women. My favorite accomplishment is seeing justice-impacted women use their voices to be the change they want to see in the world.Previously, I worked as the Development Manager at Resilient Health, a mental health agency that offers innovative and holistic services to underserved populations. My responsibilities included fundraising, grant writing, and special events planning. I was able to secure multiple grants and donations, develop and maintain tracking mechanisms, and organize and attend events to increase recognition of the agency and staff. Additionally, I collaborated with other departments and external contractors to ensure alignment of goals and actions. This experience gave me valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities of working in the mental health field, and I improved my communication, research, and project management skills.
